MRT (Mass Rapid Transit)

MRT is Singapore's rapid transit system, which consists of several lines connecting different parts of the island.

The network covers most major residential areas, business districts and tourist attractions.

Trains run frequently, they are clean and punctual, making the MRT a popular choice for commuters and travellers alike.

The fare system is based on distance travelled and fares are calculated according to distance travelled.

Closest metro stations for each zone / gate

ZONE 1: Gate 1 (Nicoll Highway or Lavender / shuttle), Gate 2 (Promenade), Gate 10 (Bayfront)

ZONE 4: Gate 3 or 4 (City Hall), Gate 5 or 6 (Raffles Place), Gate 7 (Esplanade and City Hall)

Bus

The bus network in Singapore complements the MRT system and provides connections to areas not served by the MRT. There are many bus routes covering the entire island, including express services, night buses and connecting services to MRT stations. Bus stops are well signposted and routes are displayed at each stop, making it easier for passengers to navigate the system. Similar to the MRT, bus fares are distance-based and passengers can use stored value cards such as EZ-Link or contactless payment methods to pay their fares.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available throughout Singapore and offer a convenient door-to-door transport option. Taxis operate on a metered fare system, with surcharges for rush hour, late night and airport surcharges.
