HISTORY OF THE CIRCUIT

The Singapore Grand Prix was first added to the Formula One calendar in 2008. It was the first Formula One night race and the first street circuit in Asia for F1. The race was held on the Marina Bay street circuit, which measures 5.063 km and is located in the centre of Singapore.

The Marina Bay Street Circuit is known for its unique features, including the nighttime setting that is illuminated by thousands of floodlights around the track. The tight and winding layout of the circuit, along with the high temperatures and humidity, make for a challenging and demanding race for drivers and teams alike.

Several drivers have managed multiple victories on the streets of Singapore, including Sebastian Vettel, who holds the record for the most wins on the circuit with five victories (2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2019). Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and Nico Rosberg are among the other drivers who have won at the Marina Bay circuit.
